We've got answers.

Everything you need to know about SheReads2Lead — from who it's for to how it works.

Who’s Invited

Who belongs here

Is this only for women? What’s the age range?

Yes — SheReads2Lead is a community built by women, for women. We welcome all ages and all stages of life and career. Whether you’re just starting out, navigating a pivot, or a seasoned professional, there’s a seat at the table for you.

Do I need to be in a particular industry or career stage to join?

Not at all. We believe great ideas and meaningful growth happen when diverse perspectives are in the room together. Women from every profession, background, and career stage are warmly welcome here.

Do I need to be affiliated with Erie MBA to attend?

No affiliation required. We’re proud of our partnership with Erie MBA, but membership is open to any woman who wants to prioritize her growth. All are welcome.

Can I bring a guest or colleague?

Absolutely — please do! If you know someone who would thrive in this community, we’d love to meet her. Share our website and invite her to join the mailing list so she doesn’t miss a thing.

Logistics & Meetings

How it works

How long are the meetings and what happens during them?

Doors open at 6:00 PM — come early, grab a snack, and settle in. Sessions run from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. You’ll spend the evening in lively small-group discussion, connecting with other women around the ideas in our current book. Light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are provided.

Where do meetings take place?

Meetings are held at the MBA Headquarters and Conference Center, located at 2171 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508. Once you’re registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email with full details. There will also be a check-in table at each event to welcome you when you arrive.

What if I can’t make a meeting — can I still stay involved?

Absolutely. Each SheReads2Lead gathering is its own ticketed event, so there’s no “membership” to keep up with and no fee to join the community — just stay on our mailing list. Everyone on the list receives the discussion guide, any resources we share, updates on what’s coming up next, and an invitation to each event. Come when you can, skip when you can’t, and stay connected to the ideas in between.

Books & Reading

The reading life

Do I have to finish the book to attend?

We know life is full and time is precious. We encourage you to read as much as you can — and to come even if you haven’t finished. What we hope for is an honest effort and enough familiarity with the material to contribute to the conversation at your table. If you’re short on time, reviewing a summary beforehand is a great way to come prepared. We want you in the room.

How are books chosen?

Our first book was selected by your co-hosts, and going forward, the community shapes the reading list. We’ll have a suggestion board at each meeting and will occasionally reach out by email to gather input on topics and titles. This is your community — your voice matters in how it grows.

How far in advance will I know what the next book is?

We’ll announce the next book approximately 30 days before each meeting — both at the event and via email — so you have plenty of lead time to get your copy and settle in.

Where can I get the books?

We’ll include an Amazon link and a link to the author’s website (when available) with each book announcement. Each member purchases her own copy — and we love seeing our community support great authors.

Tickets & Cost

Registration & pricing

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets are approximately $25 per event. The exact price will always be listed in your email invitation and on our website at the time registration opens.

How do I register for a meeting?

Registration is available directly on our website or via email invitation. Please register at least 24 hours before the event so we can plan seating, order food, and prepare materials for everyone.

Will there be a waitlist if a session fills up?

Yes! If a session reaches capacity, we’ll open a waitlist. Our venue can accommodate up to 100 women, and honestly — we’d love nothing more than to have that problem.

What if I’ve registered but can’t make it?

We’re a brand-new community and figuring this out as we go — we want to be upfront about that. Because SheReads2Lead is made possible through our partnership with Erie MBA, who helps us plan seating, order food, and prepare handouts based on registration numbers, we’re not able to offer refunds once a ticket is purchased. Here’s what we can do:

  • Transfer your ticket to a friend or colleague — just send us her name ahead of time and she’s on the list.
  • Credit your ticket toward a future SheReads2Lead event.

We’re still working out the details on how we’ll handle cancellations long-term, so if something comes up, please email Andrea directly at andrea@andreakaybierer.com and we’ll figure it out together. Thanks for your patience and generosity as we build this together.

Format & Culture

What to expect in the room

Is this a lecture, a networking event, or something else?

It’s neither — and that’s by design. SheReads2Lead is a gathering. You’ll be seated at a small round table with 6 to 8 women for facilitated discussion. While deep, lasting connections often form here, we intentionally protect this space from becoming a sales or networking environment. This is a room for growing together, and we ask every member to honor that spirit.

Will I be put on the spot or expected to speak?

Never. We’ll invite volunteers to help facilitate discussion at each table and provide everyone with conversation prompts to make participation feel natural and easy. We hope you’ll have something to share — but there’s no pressure to speak in front of the full group. Show up as you are. That’s enough.

Staying Connected

Between the meetings

How do I get notified when tickets go live?

Join our mailing list — that’s the best way to stay in the loop. We’ll also post updates on our website. To make sure our emails find you, please add us to your contacts so we don’t end up in your spam or junk folder.

How do I stay connected between meetings?

We encourage you to find a “book buddy” — someone from the group to stay in conversation with between meetings and help each other put ideas into action. We’ll also send a few emails each month to keep the community connected, and our website is always up to date. Don’t hesitate to reach out anytime with questions — we’re always glad to hear from you.
